SCHOOL WORKS
NEKODE GAME DESIGN
This animation, test character design layouts are other sketches and ideas were from my previous school project "Nekode" in Oulu University of Applied Science from 2018.
My team of IT students and visual design students made a demonstration of a mobile game that helps kids to find joy of coding. We especially wanted to reach for girls, who are thought not to care about computers, coding and computational task altogether, and there for they are not encouraged to learn those skills.

The game was supposed to not actually teach coding, but computational thinking through different kind of puzzles, with an adventurous story behind. The game tells a story about a kitten from the kingdom of a bad cats, and she'll travel through the kindom of good cats, while completing different kind of computational skills teaching tasks.

I was working in this project as a design leader. I made a little animation, character design and some UI-design mockups. It was a shame that we couldn't make a working demo out of this game, because we had team members around the world, and no one was able to continue the work after this EduLab course, because we all had other plans already in different countries. I'd anyway love to get to that kind of project again, and I really wish we could finish this project also at some point.
